Gentry Akens is an award-winning professional leader in the world of entertainment design. He is a truly multidimensional creative executive and entrepreneur with over 25 years experience in immersive, interactive family entertainment across a wide range of media and merchandising. His talents have been utilized by major corporations, including: Walt Disney World, Universal Studios Orlando, The Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, Hasbro, Inc., Mattel Toys, Sony Pictures, Hanna Barbera Studios and others. Specializing in production design for motion pictures, television, theater, video, animation, toy design, story development, and live entertainment, his masterful visionary skills create magic! He was Production Designer for “The Mickey Mouse Club,” Nickelodeon’s “Gullah Gullah Island,” and Art Director for two Tyler Perry motion pictures: “Good Deeds,” and “Temptations of a Marriage Counselor.” Most recently, he completed season two of MTV’s “Teen Wolf” series, two seasons for TV one’s “The Rickey Smiley Show” starring popular comic, Rickey Smiley and scenic designs for the sets of a new musical comedy, “Disenchanted” headed to New York’s Off-Broadway series.

His amazing career also includes notable stints at Hasbro where he was V.P. & Head of Creative Development, responsible for all conceptual development and execution, designed to expand Hasbro and it’s brands beyond the toy and game aisles into storytelling media (i.e., feature films, television, live experiences, digital media and publishing).
